Market Update - August 18, 2009

Just back in from a great end of summer vacation/baseball tourney in Maui....summer is over for the Herriage household and it's back to school today. During a layover yesterday I noticed that the market was getting hammered. Then, when I ran my research this morning Isaw that it was not only a 180 point down day, but that it happened on 90/10 down to up volume.This big rebound needs a breather--small caps jumped 67% from the 343 close on the Russell-2000 on March 9th....all without a 10% correction along the way.

If you go back in history and chart recoveries out of recessions you will NOT find a single 50% rebound off a recession low in only five months except for the bear market rally in 1930, which was eventually erased with an further 82% drop in 1932.

Since 1950 the average length of time to achieve a 50% rebound is 18 months BUT those figures were only produced with real GDP growth of +4.5% from the bottom, an average of 850,000 jobs added to the economy, corporate profits jumping by more than 12% and bank lending increasing by more than 5%. None of those events has occurred in this rebound.

Wealth Creation – Here is Where it Starts

In speaking with Wealth Masters International's Members, either at an event or from the Home Office, it is common that I hear something like “I know that it takes money to make money, and right now I just don’t have any.” Regardless of where you may be financially, the most important thing to remember is that at some point everyone that has achieved financial independence had little to no money! So, what is the one common denominator that the wealthy have in common? What is the single thing that they can all point to and give credit to for their financial success?

Simply put, the wealthy became that way because they found one thing and stuck with it. Perseverance! Too many times we jump from one thing to another, always hoping that the grass will be greener on the other side…and it rarely is. Instead, if we make the decision to give 100% to one thing, whatever that one thing may be and to never give up regardless of the obstacles and challenges in our way, we will begin to see financial success and ultimately, experience true financial freedom.

While this rarely happens overnight (nothing lasting ever does), measurable success will be seen very, very quickly. Then, by following the core principles found in WMI’s “Six Steps to Freedom”, you will begin to experience exponential wealth creation. At first, it will appear in your daily mindset, and then it will manifest in your bank and investment accounts. And all of this will take place in an incredibly short period of time! The Root of the Issue

If there's one thing that Wayne Allyn Root excels at, it's getting people's attention. In an age of politically correct tiptoeing, Wayne dishes out the truth, sans sugarcoating. That's what has made him a frequent guest on such shows as Neil Cavuto's Your World and The Glenn Beck Program.

Now, with his just-released book, The Conscience of a Libertarian, Wayne covers the entire spectrum of political and social issues. And in doing so, he manages to stay focused on the root of the issue: liberty. Covering everything from abortion to government bailouts to health care, what makes him stand out from reach-across-the-aisle conservatives is his consistency. It is a trait for which I enormously respect him.

The title The Conscience of a Libertarian is, of course, a play on Barry Goldwater's famous book, The Conscience of a Conservative. It's no coincidence that Goldwater is one of Root's heroes. What's interesting is that when Goldwater ran for president in 1964, many thought of him as a right-wing zealot. And, as a result, he lost in landslide to incumbent Lyndon B. Johnson.

The truth? Barry Goldwater was a libertarian-centered conservative, cut in the mold of the Founding Fathers. For example, Root points out that Goldwater called it “conservative” to not want government in your bedroom. As one of his other heroes, Ronald Reagan, said, “The very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism.” Had Goldwater written his book today, he might very well have named it The Conscience of a Libertarian.

One of the more important aspects of Root's book is that he takes former Columbia classmate Barack Obama to task - head on. No niceties or political correctness, thank you - just the bold, raw truth. It's understandable he says that some might refer to him as “the Anti-Obama.” I would go one step further and say that The Conscience of a Libertarian is the ultimate anti-Obama book.

In this fast-paced work, Root disrobes just about every Obama scheme the president has pulled off to date, and, even more important, the schemes he is still trying to sell to the American Public. One of the points I especially appreciated in this regard is when he said:

“Once the clear-cut majority of people either work for government, or collect a paycheck from government, the majority will vote for higher and higher taxes on the minority (those who earn their own keep, create jobs, risk their money to build business). Why not? Taxes aren't painful, as long as someone else has to pay them.”

He later warns, “Giving government power is always a dangerous idea. Today government may use that power on your behalf. You may applaud government's decision. But tomorrow government may change sides and decide to use the power you have given them … against you. The best solution is to never give the government that authority, power, or control in the first place - simply because (drum roll please) it's none of the government's darn business.”

Amen.

I was happy to see Wayne define the term Libertarian as someone who “is fiscally conservative, socially tolerant, pro freedom, pro constitution, standing for more rights for the individual, and reducing the size, scope, and power of government.” He goes on to say that if you word it that way, the LP has the potential to attract a majority of U.S. voters.”

For me, he nailed it with these words. I have always believed that there are millions of conservatives who don't realize that they are very much aligned with libertarianism - in other words, the kind of conservatism that Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan believed in.

Those of us who believe that liberty is the key issue - that it must be given a higher priority than all other objectives - need to stop the infighting and academic debates and join arms. The enemy - progressivism - is relentless. Progressives love it when the other side brawls internally and surely would hate the thought of conservatives and libertarians joining forces. Wayne Root has it right - libertarian right.

Finally, true to his bold, relentless nature, Root closes out his 350-page book by making it clear that he is the man to lead the Libertarian Party to first-class status in 2012. Had he not done so, he wouldn't be Wayne Allyn Root. He is a bold leader who is prepared to fight to return America to its libertarian-centered conservative roots.

It's almost a cliché to call a book required reading, but it's definitely true of The Conscience of a Libertarian. It is a rare combination of important, factual content conveyed in an entertaining, easy-to-understand style. Wayne's writing is both breezy and pithy, which makes you anxious to see what's coming on the next page. There is not a dull spot anywhere along the way, so fasten your seat belt.

The Wealth Masters International m³ Private Wealth Group Conference is nearing its end, but we continue to experience new things and have a great time doing it.

John Perkins gave us another look at where our world is heading. He shared his ideas on how we could do our part in making sure that the generations that follow us have a fair chance at this thing called life. We also heard some fascinating statistics on our economy as well as our environment that will aide us all in making better and more informed decisions in the future.

Richard Spring then gave us an up-close and personal look at the world of rare coins and a few examples of how they could benefit us. Congratulations to Shelley Thompson as she was the lucky winner of a gold coin!

Next, Alan Andrus presented updates on Wealth Creation Opportunities and took on questions as our Members were eager to learn more about this thriving Business venture.

We then took a closer look into being our own bank with Walter Young, followed by a very interactive and informative question and answer session.

All of our members had a fabulous time as they were invited to a wine party hosted by Sam Balabon later in the day.

The day ended with the most important board meeting of our lives. Deanna Latson and Troy Stende directed a group exercise that got us all out of our comfort zone and believing that anything is possible. This is an activity that you have to experience for yourself! The beach is amazing, the pool is cool and nothing beats a full 5 days with our Wealth Masters International family in an exotic location like the Dominican Republic. We kicked off the 4th of July on our first night which began with a beautifully decorated "Welcome Reception" on Gabi Beach at the Paradisus Palma Real. Everyone got the chance to reconnect or shake hands with new Members, and we announced three great additions to our Executive Committee: Greg McMahon, Aaron and Sophia Rashkin. The EC were all presented with beautiful 14k gold and diamond pins in recognition of their amazing leadership and dedication to our Members and Consultants. Our first day of conference began with Ross Johnson breaking the ice. His presentation was absolutely "enlightening". He read the thoughts of a few of our consultants, showed us a thing or two about cards, and amazed us all with his superior ability to understand and identify another level of communication. Next, we had John Perkins share his knowledge and experiences of being an "economic hit man." His insight shed some light on an otherwise dim subject... our economy. John is here all week and scheduled to speak again. The crowd has really enjoyed interacting with John and he made himself available to sign books for all of our Members.

Then, we all learned how to 'be our own bank" with some creative suggestions on how to be our own Saver, Borrower, Gate Keeper, and Share holder. By and far, this has been a jewel of information to our Members on a subject that is not widely known. We also heard an experter share his knowledge of Asset management and he introduced us to the "Automated Trading Program" that is going to sweep the investing industry.

This has been the second consecutive year that Wealth Masters International has been involved as a sponsor of the Tracy McGrady Foundation. TMAC’s basketball camp was an ultimate lifetime experience for beginners and advanced players alike for those between the ages of seven and seventeen.

TMAC, Inc. “The Males Advocating Change” is a non-profit organization established in 1995 to increase youth awareness and encourage community affiliates to be creative when developing youth prevention skills. Their mission is to provide each youth with the essential skills and motivation to become successful and productive members of our global community, and to aggressively and constructively counteract crime, violence, and drug use.

We have well over two-hundred kids that are having a great time and learning how to play basketball the correct way. The kids have really been working well with one another and over the years we have seen so much growth through the TMAC Camps. Remember your passport and the $10/person tourism fee (USD) which must be paid upon arrival.

Book your ground transportation in advance or if you are taking a cab, make sure you prearrange the amount you are going to pay. The hotel is about 20 minutes away so this cab ride should cost you around $25. We recommend the discounted group service we have available for our Members (Training > Training Docs > All Documents > m3 Private Wealth Group > Transportation CC Form).

Upon arrival, make sure to check in at the front desk. You will need a major credit card for incidentals. The hotel will charge your room nights to our group account for the nights of the 4th-8th. If you want an upgrade, you can ask for one upon arrival and they will bill that to your card. Otherwise, for room nights needed outside those dates, you will still need to coordinate with our staff, and we will be on site beginning July 2nd.

As the 2008 Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee and now the Senior Economic and Political Advisor to Wealth Masters International, many of you know that I believe in the libertarian ideals of dramatically lower spending and taxes; radically cutting the size, scope and power of government; and increasing economic and personal freedoms for the individual citizen and taxpayer. It is important to note that long-term studies now prove that this philosophy is not just good for your bank account, it's good for your spirit, too. These studies prove that simply believing in the power of the individual versus that of government makes all the difference in whether you are successful and satisfied in life. What a bonus! Here is a political philosophy that hands you the keys to a happier and more fulfilling life in the bargain.

Back in October 2008, newspapers across the country trumpeted the news that being a Republican automatically makes you happier than being a Democrat. However happiness is certainly not about political party affiliation. It is about a mindset. What leads to happiness is freedom for the individual. Freedom from government interference in our lives. None of us is guaranteed happiness on the day of our birth. But what our Founding Fathers did guarantee was the freedom to pursue happiness.

Happiness is about a belief system- a positive conscious mindset that helps to create health, wealth, success, and happiness. The proof is that the same results hold true in places across the globe where the words “Republican” and “Democrat” don't exist. In countries all over the world, those who identify themselves as “conservatives” are far happier than those who identify themselves as “liberals.” It is a long-term pattern proven by scientific research.

Republicans, Libertarians and Conservatives all share a common trait- belief in the individual. We believe in the principle that you, not government, are in control of your own destiny. As the Washington Post put it, “The hypothesis: Those who think they can control their destinies are happier.”

To me, the answer is simple and straightforward. If you believe that government can make your life better, and you are waiting around for government to save you- you are destined to fail.

I have also found that fiscal conservatives don't believe in luck playing a part in success. As a CEO and entrepreneur, I've experienced luck many times in the business world- and all of it has been bad! Yet I've remained an incredibly positive and happy person. Why? Because individuals who feel in control of their destiny react in a different way to bad luck- they become more committed, tenacious and determined to succeed. Individuals with this kind of positive mindset don't wait for opportunity. They create opportunity. Instead of giving up and accepting their fate, they choose to educate themselves in financial literacy (by joining Wealth Masters International).

There is one more piece to the equation. Fiscal conservatives don't resent the success of others. We don't see prosperity as limited or finite. We see one person's success as a sign that success is possible for all of us. We see the wealthy as role models to be emulated, not greedy or lucky people to be torn down, denigrated, or punished (with high tax rates).

This all leads to one conclusion: each individual's altitude (success) is determined by his or her attitude. The best way to guarantee happiness is to depend on YOU. No one else believes in you, more than you believe in yourself. No one else can or will fight harder for you, than you can fight for yourself. If it is to be, it is up to me. Those who sit around waiting for government to improve their lives and create equality and fairness, will be waiting for a lifetime. Without faith in your own talents to change your situation, it will be a long, depressing, miserable life. Successful and happy people the world over wait for nothing and no one- they take action, they take control, and they take charge.

Bernanke Drops The Ball, But AIG’s Rescue Gets Done

Sugarland, TX – September 18, 2008– Yesterday I wrote that the “FED must drop rates and that AIG must be bailed out”. Tonight we have word that the AIG bailout has happened, and that 80% of the company will now be owned by us…the US taxpayer. Congratulations everyone….we now owe over $1 trillion in additional unfunded liabilities.

"The Board determined that, in current circumstances, a disorderly failure of AIG could add to already significant levels of financial market fragility and lead to substantially higher borrowing costs, reduced household wealth and materially weaker economic performance," the NY Federal Reserve said.

Look, here’s the bottom line on all of this. The delirious “geniuses” that dreamed up these ridiculous instruments called “derivatives” over the last 10 years are to blame for the current mess we are in. If any of us were responsible for this monstrosity of a creation, we would be tarred, feathered and hanged for the whole world to see. I honestly don’t know if the worst is behind us, because I have lost complete confidence in a government that would allow this to happen in the first place. It’s almost as if they want it to happen….“it” being a repeat of the catastrophic events of the 1930’s Great Depression.

The truth is that I am an eternal optimist, and that I believe in the great spirit of ingenuity that lies in each of us. Unfortunately, “we” are not running things right now, and the idiots that are don’t seem to know how to right the ship that we are all sinking in.

So, what would I do if I ran the Federal Reserve??

I would institute the “Herriage Manifesto”: a FIVE STEP PLAN to completely clean up our markets in less than 30 DAYS:

One: I would open the books of the FED so that for the first time EVER, our private bankers accounting shenanigans could be audited and uncovered. The FED is as Federal as Federal Express…which means that it’s not federal at all. It’s a private cabal that lines the pockets of the worlds “ultra elite” through massive criminal activity and should ultimately be abolished… and the crooks that profit from our misery should be thrown in jail for life!

Two: I would place the US dollar back on a limited version of the gold standard immediately, and reverse the amazingly poor decision made in 1973, when Nixon removed all of gold’s backing from our currency. Then, over a 50 year period I would mandate that 25% of all money in circulation must be backed directly by gold. This move would reduce interest rates by 50% overnight, increase lending to consumers by 300%, and would have real estate prices appreciating across the board NOW…and for decades to come.

Three: I would eliminate “naked short selling” and make these crooks immediately cover their short positions so that Wall Street thieves couldn’t drive otherwise healthy companies into total and complete bankruptcy. This criminal short selling would be eliminated in less than an hour and we would see share prices rise by 10% in a single day…. and over 25% in 30 days. The fact that this has not already been done tells us that the foxes are guarding the hen house!

Four: I would make it a crime (criminal not civil) to issue derivatives that do not directly add to the well being and health of a particular industry or commodity. Derivatives make a lot of sense for a farmer that is hedging against a bad crop season, but they make no sense when used by financial institutions that are using them to increase their returns by 2% per year, while placing the entire financial system as we know it at risk.

Five: I would remove all barriers to trade, and open the markets entirely so that a true ‘free enterprise” system could develop once and for all. Protectionism is the enemy of the entrepreneur, and once removed allows prices to move based purely on supply and demand. This allows businesses to make decisions based in what really works, pure and simple, instead of some government mumbo-jumbo about “protecting us” from international competition.
Where we go from here will be interesting to watch. This has the feel of a total selling climax, which gives us the massive negativity that we need to finally reach a contrarian bottom. The next few days will tell us if this is the case, so stay tuned.

Good luck to all as we work our way out of this mess caused by our idiot decision makers in the government, and by the criminals at the FED.

I had a great time meeting all the new consultants and hanging with such a great group of visionaries. My hat is off to all of you that attended the event. Congratulations.

All of us arrived home inspired after listening and learning from the TOP MARKETERS in the WORLD. If you did not think that to be the case before Synergy Saturday, I know you do now.

We are all aware of the promotions that are wrapped around S.S. but I want to now turn to our future. I want to start by telling you a little of my history.

A little over eight years ago I borrowed $1500 dollars to start my business, and jump into the fire. It was one of the most difficult things I had ever done. I now had to make it happen or at least get my money back and break even.

I got qualified and made a few sales and was feeling good, when my sponsor called and attempted to get me to dish out almost $7000 to attend a conference. A level two event if you will. I was new, just getting started and there was no way I was going to borrow any money to attend this event. I stayed home and passed.

Manny came home after that event a changed person. I could hear the confidence in his voice. He carried himself different than he had prior to attending. I now regretted not attending and now had to wait 6 months till the next level two event.

A month or so later I quit my job and was scared to death. Was I doing the right thing. Everyone around me thought I was crazy. Was I? I was making a few sales each month but I had a lot of debt. Should I pay the mortgage or buy more leads.

In December of that year I attended my first level two event. What an eye opener that was for me. I came back a changed person. You see after attending I came home to my first FIVE FIGURE MONTH. It was January of 2000. Man was I sitting in the driver’s seat now. I had never made that kind of money before.

I met all the leaders and top producers and in a few months I was invited to join the leadership group and soon after I was hosting calls. I was so nervous every time the intro taker would start to introduce Karl in Utah. My voice would start to tremble…I would take a sip of water…a deep breath…and cross my fingers.

Soon I was hosting the prime time calls 5 times a week. This is the personal growth we keep talking about.

At the next level two event I almost fell off my chair when my name was called and I was presented an award for level one sales.

Two months later I made $35,000 in a four hour period one afternoon in September. Still one of my best memories and days in the business. It was unreal. I was emotional going to bed that night as I remember working over seven months a year to generate that kind of income as a coal miner.

I am not sharing this story to embellish what I have done in this industry. Nor to candy coat this and make it sound easy. I worked my BUTT OFF for 3 or 4 years to really develop my skills and my mindset. Is it a process. But it is worth it BIG TIME!!!

I feel compelled to write this as each of you have the right company to assist you in building a legacy to pass on for generations to come. I mean that. Think of your children, grand children and great grand children being able to benefit not only from the wealth you have created on this journey, but being able to pass on the priceless knowledge you have learned here at WMI.

How cool would that be if we can break that mold of financial ignorance in each of our families? What could that do to make the world a better place? Wouldn’t it be comforting to know when we leave this place…that our families will not squander our vision but will embrace it for ever and ever.

We are all in this together. There is nothing more Kip and I want to do than provide each of you the keys to wealth and prosperity. You are in the right place at the right time.

All Synergy Saturday attendees got to see the stock option plan. You now can see clearly how the goal of 500+ enlighten millionaires will be accomplished.

m2 is now only 2 months away. WMI as always is promising this event to be better that the last. It will be. We promise more great wealth creation opportunities. There will be. We promise to give you every opportunity in the world to live your life on your teams. You can.

If you are still thinking about maybe attending m2…I have to ask you why? Now that you understand what we have to offer, how could you possibly deny your self that opportunity? If you were at the last m2 and are thinking you have seen it all, you haven’t.

Many of us are going to look back and this time and space with a feeling of accomplishment as to what we have created together. Those dreams we have had for years and years will have now been fulfilled.

These are exciting time for all of us. You are in the right place at the right time and your future could not be brighter. Kip and I have built this company on a foundation of honor and integrity and that will never change. That is why each of you are now here. We will never let you down.

The next two months are going to fly by and I am already looking forward to seeing each of you at our next m2on Marco Island FL. New opportunities, new speakers…a new future for all of us.

As President and co founder of Wealth Masters International, I want to thank each and every one of you for all you have brought to WMI this year.
Kip and I knew that if we built a quality company of integrity and honor we would attract those kinds of people. The proof is in the pudding. I have the privilege of contacting each of our new members, and I have to say that we are thrilled as to caliber of Consultant and Members we have in the WMI family. One of the most humbling experiences in my life was to meet many of you at the M2 Wealth Conference and look forward to meeting all of you at our Synergy Saturday in March.
We are just finishing up an incredible year of growth. We have the new web site and other tools you will have at your finger tips in 2007. You have all positioned yourselves to take complete charge of your lives. This is what is so exciting to Kip and I. To see each of you grow personally and financially.

2006 will be a special year to remember for all of us in WMI. We had two outstanding Wealth Conferences, the company more than quadrupled in size, and the success we continue to have with our M1 Alliances and M2 Wealth Creation Opportunities is “creating success and wealth in others” on a large scale. This is the foundation that WMI was built on, and Karl and I wake up every day with this as our commitment.
All the pieces are in place for explosive growth in 2007. Our third year in business will include the 2nd Edition of the M1 Masters Program, our 4th and 5th Wealth Conferences, the Inaugural M3 Lifestyle Experience Conference, exciting new web site/back office/marketing features, and our Synergy Saturday in March, just to name a few of the things we have to look forward to. We owe so much to so many: to our Executive Committee, that gives back in so many ways, proving that by creating success and wealth in others, it truly does come back to you ten-fold….to our Leadership Support Team, that demonstrated “together everyone really does achieve more” at our most recent M2….to all of WMI’s top-ranked Alliances, that proved that even though you may have already reached the pinnacle, you have an obligation to help others on their climb to the top….and to the our staff, which handled our rapid growth with poise, an unstoppable mindset, and a genuine desire to be of service to others. It is a steady growth and it would be my hope that all of our members truly understand the value of what we all have here. You have heard a lot about WMI being many of our member's second family. Wealth Masters Third M2 “Wealth Conference” A Huge Success!

Welcome Home All! Wealth Masters International welcomes you home after a phenomenal M2 Wealth Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. You’ve heard it on the calls, and heard it on the street….the excitement is overwhelming. Incredibly, this was WMI’s third M2 in one year, and if you were there to experience this Conference you know what we are talking about. If you were not there to experience this M2, chances are you feel the vibe and won’t miss the next.
The theme of this M2 was “Field of Dreams”, and yes, people came from everywhere. The US and Canada were well represented, but the winner for longest journey hailed from the Philippines. The Conference started off with our Sunday night Welcome Reception. The excitement of putting a name with a voice was incredible. Veteran M2 attendees met face to face with first time M2 attendees, building lifetime relationships. This was the kickoff to a great week of networking and learning.
We had the opportunity to hear first hand the dreams of speakers that are now realities. This M2 provided unsurpassed information about living life on your terms, time-tested wealth creation, personal empowerment, proper nutrition, as well as our Health Acceleration Program. Speakers met one on one and in groups during our breakout sessions, allowing specific questions to be asked on a more personal level.
Tuesday night we had an amazing marketing night. We experienced the opportunity to hear from the leaders that make it happen everyday. Thank you Shirley and Jay! Jeff C filled the room with heart and talent. If you did not develop an agenda for change you were not living in the moment.
The week concluded with the farewell banquet and awards for the top producers. Congratulations go out to Jay Kubassek for his outstanding efforts in taking the top prize and winning an all expenses paid Eastern Caribbean Cruise. Enjoy Jay; you deserve it! If you missed the hypnotist, well…you missed a thrilling display (thanks Michelle!). The night ended with great food and friendship, comedians, great band, and of course, dancing. WMI’s golf tournament was our largest yet, with 9 teams vying for the coveted M2 title.

If you were in Phoenix you know, WMI is a world class company. If you were not in Phoenix you won’t want to miss the next M2.
